My Trip to Fort William Featuring Glasses Direct

If you follow my Twitter or Facebook page, you may have seen that I had a little trip to Fort William over the weekend for my fiance’s birthday. We have wanted to travel around Scotland for the longest time but just never got round to actually doing it. So for his birthday, I bought us a two-night stay at the Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel and thankfully we got some good weather – which is rare for Scotland.

It was a 3-hour drive from Glasgow so I wanted to make sure I had my eye care sorted. For the trip, I wore two frames, my Juke by Lennox frames (above) which I think may be discontinued however they are very similar to the Ray-Ban style. When the sun started to point in my direction, I put on my East by Scout prescription sunglasses. I have to tell you for a sunny day, it is a necessity to have a pair of prescription sunglasses especially if you’re a driver. Don’t forget that Glasses Direct are known for their 2 for 1 offers, so make sure you take advantage of that – here’s the link.

“Made from high specification acetate, these vintage inspired glasses are a must-have for any wardrobe.”

I have to admit I really love the look of these frames. I almost always go for a tortoiseshell frame, it just looks so classic and goes with any outfit. But I like how Glasses Direct give you the option to go for a lighter shade of tortoiseshell which is really on trend right now (have you seen Proudlock from MIC eyewear collection?). Anyway, I feel that these shades may be a little too big for my little pea head but as they are sunglasses I don’t mind wearing them oversized. If you’re wondering what tints I went for, I got the polarised tint in colour grey I feel that they are the best option for blocking out those harmful UV rays.

If you are looking for a good pair of sunglasses, it is really easy to add on a tint with your frame on the Glasses Direct website. Here is a step-by-step guide.

You simply choose the frame you want, select your tint, enter your prescription and you’re good to go!

I have done the free home trial a few times before. It is brilliant, you get to choose 4 frames you would like to try on – it doesn’t cost you anything to deliver or to send back as they give you a Freepost sticker. Trying on frames is so important to me because I really can’t justify paying money for something I will be wearing every day without seeing it on first. I love this system Glasses Direct have set up great for perfectionists like myself.
