Hello, my beauties! I haven’t been as active on my blog recently – I can only hold my hands up! I have only recently launched my own social media agency called Wholehearted Social. I started off being a full-time social media freelancer back in November when I was laid off unexpectedly from my day job as a Digital Marketing Manager (read more). Working as a freelancer quickly took off after a few months and I then had to hire a team of helping hands to support my freelance clients, then it just grew arms and legs ever since. So that is my reason for being so silent!

I have started writing again, yes like the old way with some ink and paper! I loved writing this post in my notebook whilst on my recent trip to Inverness before typing it up on my laptop, it was a really refreshing way to capture my experience. Since moving to London I have been running on empty and trying to do EVERYTHING at once which just took its toll and I ended up in the hospital so I retreated back to my home city of Glasgow and Loch Ness by Jacobite were so lovely as to invite me to try out their Freedom cruise whilst I was in Scotland.  So I travelled up to the north of Scotland to Inverness for a few days, which was the perfect place for me to just switch off and recharge my batteries.

I travelled with my bestie and we stayed at The Kingsmills Hotel which was stunning. We had two nights in one of their garden rooms and it was just so tranquil and I mean you can’t beat waking up to a full Scottish breakfast, can you? The staff were all very welcoming and easy-going and we took advantage of their leisure and spa rooms where we had access to the sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool and the gym!

Our next trip was on one of the most popular tourist attractions within the north of Scotland which was the Loch Ness Freedom Tour by Jacobite. We rode in Jacobite warrior boat which took us on a lovely little trip across Loch Ness and over to Urquhart castle which we had an hour to explore. It was a truly stunning location to stop by and wander around and read about the history of the castle. Scotland history is actually really fascinating – being from Scotland myself I’ve never looked at it from a tourist perspective but actually listening to the onboard audio playing on the boat over to the castle, I learned so many random facts about Loch Ness and the Jacobite period in Scottish history. P.S at the beginning of the video, I pronounce Jacobite wrong!! I don’t know why, but I said it really weird – but it is ja-co-bite and not ya-co-bite lol!!

The whole cruise lasted around 2 hours and it was definitely an experience that opened my eyes up to some of the real and raw history of Scotland! It would be something I would recommend anyone should do if they are in the Inverness area!

For food around the Inverness area, I would recommend the Rocpool Reserve’s Chez Roux if you are looking for a few sips of some red wine and a bit of fine dining. The atmosphere within the bar area was very relaxed and the food was so delicious, just look at the photos of the food we ordered I almost didn’t want to dig in because it was so well presented!!
