The Principle Hotel Edinburgh

The Principal Hotel Edinburgh | Launch Night

Hello! It has been a loong time. So sorry guys that I have been so rubbish at posting on the blog. I recently got laid off, you might have seen me posting about it on my twitter feed it’s all pretty sad news tbh, but I am staying positive as it’s given me the kick up the backside that I needed to become a full-time freelancer. P.S if you know anyone looking for a digital marketer, send them my way and I will love you forever ?.

I am late in posting about this little gem of an event that I went to last month but you might have seen all my stories and posts on instagram (i’ve been so active on there recently with my stories – go me ?). Anyway, I just really wanted to mention The Principal Hotel on here as well because I honestly had one of the best nights there and I want to show you all how pretty it is too!

The Principle Hotel Edinburgh

The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square, formerly The Roxburghe Hotel, just had a multi-million top-to-toe refurbishment, so they decided to throw a mahooosive party with almost 1,000 guests! It was really awkward when I first arrived as I didn’t realise how big of an event it was as I’m from Glasgow and the PR team didn’t say anything about dress code, so my fiancé and I showed up extremely casual with t-shirt and jeans and there was a bloody red carpet and men in three-piece suits! Just a tad awks, but I just got over it and just owned the fact that my Gola trainers are cool now haha!

Anyway, their main dining area which is called ‘The Garden’ is like a forest, with plants hanging from everywhere. I literally thought I was in heaven, being surrounded by nature is literally my ideal place to be. I didn’t get to try out their dinner menu, but my god their breakfast menu was something straight out of the instagram handbook. Avocado and toast my way pleaase ??.

Within the main hall, they had the beautiful Ray BLK singing her heart out live with a massive disco ball in the middle of the room, I wasn’t doing much dancing in my trainers tho. I’m 5″1 so I was probably the smallest in the room without heels, which actually came in handy because I managed to squeeze my way to the front!

All the different areas of the hotel tell a story and have a different name. So ‘The Wee House’ is another section of the hotel which is made up of multiple rooms with sky-high ceilings, Georgian decor and an extravagant spiralling staircase. I was actually told that you can rent this entire section of the hotel.. I couldn’t even IMAGINE that! For the party, they set it up so each room had a different activity for you to take part in. One room had a DJ, another had a pop-up bar inside with a bathtub filled with ice & bottles of champagne and another with a mini masquerade party where you could try on vintage jewellery and a mask of your choice. It was so much fun.

I actually can’t wait to go back, my sister is performing in Flashdance in Edinburgh the beginning of next year, so I will definitely be booking a little overnight stay again here. I would say it is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at and my fiancé works at the Hilton so that’s not even me exaggerating!
