Design Your Own Christmas Cards with Basic Invite

From a young age, I’ve always dreaded buying and writing up Christmas cards. I have such a large family, so for me, it’s such a long process writing up my Christmas cards. I find it especially challenging trying to think of the right thing to say to each individual person. I don’t know if anyone can agree? (because I really hope I’m not the only bad person).

For example, this one year my sister was travelling abroad and she wasn’t able to spend Christmas at home. So, I sent a card across the pond and silly me forgot to put kisses at the bottom of the card and she almost cried! So yeah, from that day on I always try to think of something meaningful to say with lots of hugs and kisses (even if it will be put in the bin a few days after Christmas!)

Anyway, the card writing thing is not my most enjoyable part of Christmas. Personally, I prefer the shopping for pressies but hey ho!

Usually, I just buy holiday cards in bulk in-store but this year I am super excited because Basic Invite got in touch with me to try out their card customisation service and design my very own Christmas cards.

Designing Christmas Cards with Basic Invite

Basic Invite is a stationery store that specialises in high quality, customisable card designs. They have a card for every occasion, with over 250 designs to choose from for holiday cards alone! The best part for me is their foil designs, sold me straight away. They are beautiful especially the rose gold foil. I also saw that they also do some pretty neat business cards, as I’ve just become a full-time freelancer so I may need to be popping on their website again to make my own little business card design!

Anyway, when I had my creative thinking cap on designing my epic Christmas card… one thing I did enjoy is that you have the option to order a few samples to see your design first. Remember if you live in the UK like me, the delivery times are a little longer. So it was about 10 days for the samples to arrive, so I would recommend getting it done sooner than later (hence why I’ve posted this review in November hehe.) They do give you an estimated delivery date which is actually really accurate which is helpful.

So, what do you think of my finished Christmas card design? P.S your not allowed to say you don’t like it, my heart and SOUL went into that design.

I decided to choose a funny image of me bombarding my fiancé with a rare show of PDA, his little scrunched up face makes me laugh so much because he hates any public show of affection but we were in Fort William and I couldn’t resist. I love how this is actually a Christmas card that you would keep, instead of just throwing away.
