As you will know from my previous blog posts, I am an avid glasses wearer. I have more pairs of glasses than I can count. I just get bored so easily… or maybe I have compulsive buying disorder ?. Anyway, when I found out that Accessorize had their own line on Glasses Direct I was buzzing to try them out. I really wanted a big, boxy frame which define ‘geeky chic’, and these Accessorize ones are perfect!
Glasses Direct are one of the biggest prescription glasses retailer online. If you’re a glasses wearer and not heard of them, you have to go have a look at their site – you will be pleasantly surprised! They have a massive range of glasses to choose from and at all different price points too so they will suit every budget. My favourite brands from Glasses Direct have to be London Retro, Scout and of course Accessorize. Accessorize actually sent me some really cute jewellery too, I love these rose gold plated studs they look great with a pair of their mini hoops ??.
Ok back to the glasses, I ended up getting the Accessorize glasses which are called ‘009’ and I love them. I went for plain black with the little hint of red so I can wear them to work and generally because black is good to wear every day as it will match any outfit.
I also added on the anti-reflective coating as I am constantly on my laptop and too much screen time tends to strain my eyes which can sometimes give me a headache but the anti-glare helps to reduce that. Also, the anti-reflective coating is good to reduce glare when driving, especially at night time. Generally tho, for blog photos if my glasses aren’t anti-reflective, it can sometime give an awkward reflection when taking a photo – so it is a good thing to add-on if you are a blogger too!
As for the actual frame, I love how it’s a thick frame because it’s not too flimsy which makes it more difficult to snap. I have sat on, dropped and stood on my fair share of glasses in the past, so a sturdy frame is always a winner for clumsy people like me!
If you wear glasses you will know that it can be super expensive, but I always get mine on Glasses Direct because they usually offer 2 for 1 on selected frames. They offer that little perk with the entire Accessorize range, which is brilliant because it is essentially ‘buy one get one free’.
Also, if you’re interested in getting a new pair of prescriptive sunnies they are currently offering FREE dark sunglasses tints (i’m not sure how long for, so best to jump on the free offer quick). I’ve reviewed their sunglasses tints before and I was impressed – you can see my full review here.
