A Portrait Party with Patricia Ramaer

I have been so inconsistent with my blog posts recently! I am so so sorry, I am going through some big changes in my life as I am turning 25 next month and I feel that i’ve hit that age where I know a few things in my life which I wasn’t happy with needed to change. I would have preferred a slow-moving change, but for me it has seemed to all happen at once.

I was made redundant, I then went self-employed, became a full-time influencer, launched a business, I was on TV, I moved, I travelled all in the space of a few short months!!

This is one of the posts I have been wanting to write about for ages. The beautiful Jennifer Hardie who is a women’s 6-figure coach and one of my very first business clients who is also a HUGGEE inspiration to me hosted a ‘Portrait Party’ in her home. This is when I was introduced to the super talented art photographer Patricia Ramaer. Even speaking with Patricia briefly her passion for storytelling and photography oozes out of her, she is a real burst of sunlight to be around.

So you’re probably thinking what the heck is Portrait Party ??

A Portrait Party is basically when a group of people get together to organise a collaborative photo shoot. As Jennifer’s client base is all entrepreneurial women who are on their way to making a 6-figure sum, I was surrounded by all these phenomenal women! They all had businesses in which they were the face of so all wanted images to reflect their personality and branding. Patricia was the perfect person to do just that as she has 45 years exploring the art of photography.

At the time, before the launch of my social media business. I had no website, no branding, no idea really what I wanted but Patricia was great at guiding me through it. All I knew is that if I will be offering a social media service then I need at least one photo with my laptop!

Before the shoot, I also had a makeover from the award-winning MUA Sandra Cormack. I am always super nervous before I get my makeup done, as I don’t really wear makeup or I will wear the bare minimum of just foundation and a lick of mascara. Also with my skin tone, I am always worried in case they don’t find the right match or if my foundation is too heavy. Sandra quite simply – knew her stuff. She’s won several awards and been in the business for a very long time. She listened to what I wanted, and I LOVED the finished look. You probably saw me talk about it on my Instagram stories at the time.

The finished photos were perfect for my business and the image I wanted to portray! I wanted to have it separate from my blog and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I actually have been using the imagery Patricia created for me on my LinkedIn account and my leads/connections have increased by at least 50%.

If you want to create strong branding through imagery for your blog, website or social media profiles. Feel free to get in touch with me with any questions, we could even set up our own blogger’s portrait party! Comment below or get in touch with me over social media @kumbearxo ??
